The last three days have been really busy! We had a lot of horsemanship and teaching lessons with Nita-Jo and Ann. We're doing a lot of teaching simulations with each other in our group. It's great, because we get a very good feedback on our teaching skills from our "role play" students.
It's not easy for me to teach in a foreign language, but it works somehow... Although I can't say, what I really want to say. ;-)
Lily ready to ride! |
We've done one-rein riding in the arena grande. Lily seemed to not know the suspension rein... It was very good for me to really take care of my body and my focus to show her the direction I wanted to go, because I could not just pull on the rein as a phase 4 or use the Carrot Stick. I mostly had to throw the one rein over Lilys head to turn the other direction when she misunderstood me. "Trust that they will respond, but be ready to correct. Not more one than the other."
On Thursday evening we had a line-dance lesson with Paul! Klaudia already posted a video here on this blog. I'm on it! Can you find me? ;-)
We also made a set-up for the Level 3/4 class coming on Monday for two weeks. We've got the opportunity to assist teaching those students! That will be a lot of fun!
On Wednesday and Thursday the students get "focus stations". That means, there will be different topics in different arenas, led by us 2-star instructors.
My focus station for the next weeks is "Bowtie" in the arena grande. Klaudia has the same on Wednesday, she might be doing the "beginning" Bowtie and I'm going to do the "advanced" Bowtie. Very exciting!
We practised the Bowties the last two days and there was a huge improvement in Lily's and my Bowtie! It was super today!

After we worked on our Bowties today, we did a mini-trailride with Tes and Lily and in the evening we spent some undemanding time with them. I guess they had fun as well, Lily was already calling me when she saw me coming to her pen! That feels great!
I could write so much more now, because so many wonderful things are happening here... But I won't, I'll get you some pictures instead! ;-)
