After some undemanding grazing time with our horses and preparing everything for the night (cleaning the pens, cleaning the horses, feeding time, filling the water buckets) we had a little rest in the condo before heading to the hot springs in Pagosa. It was very relaxing and I had a very deep sleep (which is actually always the case).
On the ranch we welcomed the horses and had again some horsemanship time before we did a ride-out on "sneaky snake" trail. We were focusing on the ingredients of the Bow-tie with quality and progression. Somehow Tesora had a different opinion and "passive persistance", "reward the slightest try", "only perfect practise makes perfect" helped a lot the achieve consistency on a higher level of direct and indirect rein. She did really nice and after some repetition she got the pattern or better said the purpose of the game we are playing. She is a super quick learner. She has her own opinions and has some objections. Matching her mental strength is, what really helps to let HER find the answer/ comfort. We have very stimulating conversations :-) I do love this horse!!!!
Tesora was a bit excited about what is all going on on the trail. She was very curious, super brave and wanted to do a touch-it with the nose with every tree stump on the trail.
I bet she will have a good sleep after this day, because we had mental, emotional and physical stimulation.
Elena and me we set-up a "physical project": jump on the seat builders. The end goal is to be able to jump on the seat builders (every size around the lodge as there is a higher on), both sides, nobody fixing them. We started to isolate, seperate and recombine to make sure, the prerequisites. It's fun anyway.
Tonight we will prepare everything for the night for the horses and will have dinner to finish the weekend with an easy flow.
