Klaudia, 06/10/2013 and 06/11/2013

Can't believe that this post is "only" about 2 days, which means that the course is quiet intense!

Yesterday more than 30 students from all over the world checked-in for a L3/L4 course. Very exciting for the students and also for us as a team to help out, so that humans and horses get settled as soon as possible.

After the check-in and orientation there was a demo with Nita-Jo Rush and 2 students/ horses about "Calm, Connected and Responsive". It was very nice to see how Nita-Jo supported the students so that they helped their horses where calm, connected and responsive. Time for the students to experiment.

In the evening we had time to play with the horses and timing was perfect as it started to cool down. Is quiet a challenge here in Colorado. Temperature is high (app. 30° C), altitude level is high (app. 2100 m) and humidity is app. 12%. As far as I understood it did not rain since May. At the end of the day like we had a trip in the desert ;-) Sunburn is quiet likely. Quiet challenging for horses and humans which are not used to it.

Today it was a very exciting day for all of us. During a demo about "Hunting and obstacle" with Nita-Jo, Pat, Linda and Caton came by to say hello and to answer questions.

After lunch there was a 2nd demo about "carrot stick riding" L3/L4. It was great to watch Nita-Jo with her horse Malin and Erin with Dan. They make it look easy as they put a lot of effort in the foundation of carrot stick riding, especially as Pat talked to us as well about the foundation and specialization as well as to get the fundamentals right!

In the evening we had time again to play with our horses. Tes was great and completely ruined my plan of easy-going ;-) She had a lot of go and wanted to play. At the end we had a super nice session On line and Liberty. She offered me 2 wonderful flying lead changes On line, Sideways without getting emotional, Change of direction in trot Liberty, lots of question and lots licking 'n chewing/ blowing out. Time for little undemanding time as she loves to eat grass.
Tes-hay
Hello Tes!

A bug butt or a butt bug?
Tomorrow will be very exciting again as there will be Remudas, Focus stations and horsemanship time with Nita-Jo! Looking forward to it.

I have to say that I can highly advise to come here, if you ever have the chance. It is a great place to be as you can share your journey with others, who have the same journey but different ;-) in a set-up perfectly designed for natural horsemanship. Lots of learning and fun!!!!
What's in for me OR our incentive collection ;-)
